Join Steve Honoshowsky and Jon Francis for a night of what composer Erik Satie coined, "furniture music." Designed to interact ambiently with its surroundings, the music for the evening will be scarcely noticeable amid the ottomans and chaise lounges.
Eleven themes will be traded, divided and improvised on using a variety of instruments before quietly being returned to a shelf on the third floor.
Multi-Instrumentalist, educator, and avant garde artist, Steve Honoshowsky has recorded and toured with internationally acclaimed performers such as Cyro Baptista and Billy Martin of Medeski, Martin and Wood. Equally fluent in percussion and melodic instruments, Steve has performed solo and recorded as No Use For Humans for over a decade. He has also released a series of drum-centric albums entitled "Speak Softly and Carry a Big Stick" with percussionists from around the world.
Jon Francis has been experimenting with sound for over three decades, writing for television, film, dance troupes, theatre companies, and even a blue whale. He has appeared on over fifty recordings, and has toured and performed with numerous artists of every genre. He currently performs with the synth-pop group Daughter Vision as the Viking rock god, Väl Challah.
Here's a collection of his score samples.
