Linda Barth on the History of Invention in New Jersey

From ice cream cones and M & Ms to antibiotics, transistors and Telstar; from Edison's "Idea Factory" to Bell Labs and Sarnoff, Jersey-born innovations have changed our world.  Wednesday, October 21 at 7:30 pm, Linda Barth will speak about inventors and inventions of the Garden State at the Strauss Mansion, 27 Prospect Circle in Atlantic Highlands.

Linda Barth is Executive Director and Newsletter Editor for the League of Historical Societies of New Jersey.  She is the author of A History of Inventing in New Jersey: From Thomas Edison to the Ice Cream Cone, published by the History Press.  Ms. Barth has also published histories of The Delaware and Raritan Canal and the Millstone Valley, and 2 childrens' books, Bridgetender's Boy  and Hidden New Jersey. She is a contributor to theEncyclopedia of New Jersey, and a frequent traveler and travel writer.

Linda Barth will speak at the monthly meeting of the Atlantic Highlands Historical Society, Wednesday October 21 at 7:30 pm. The meeting is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served.
